The best way to reach the Isle of Skye is by car, travelling times from Glasgow/Edinburgh are around 5½ hours and about 3 hours from Inverness.
Once on the Island take the A87 to Portree then take the A855 to staffin continue through the crofting township of Staffin untill you see the Quiraing/Uig sign board on your left hand side, the entrance to the cottage is immediately before this sign.
As an alternative to reaching Skye via the road bridge why not try out the Glenachulish – the last manually operated turntable ferry in Scotland. There has been a ferry operating on this route since 1934. The service is seasonable – Easter til October – please check the website for further details. www.skyeferry.co.uk
